In the Central Region you can sit on a bluff overlooking one of the Great Lakes, where the sunset matches the best in the world. Visitors to this region enjoy incredible river gorge views, Lake Ontario waterfront, and unlimited outdoor adventure. Darien Lakes State Park is located in south-western Genesee County, roughly centered between Letchworth State Park and Niagara Falls State Park. The park's campsites are equipped with electricity, except for the 13 primitive sites. There are heated comfort stations and showers. Swimming is permitted at our beach when lifeguards are on duty.

The Taconic Region lies along the east side of the Hudson River, north of New York City, and is known for its spectacular views, stately mansions, and rich history. The park is situated next to Lake Taghkanic in the rolling hills and lush forests. In addition, the park has hiking, biking, cross-country ski and snowmobile trails.

Higley Flow State Park, Thousand Islands Region

The region is known for some of the best boating and fishing in the world and nearly all of the state parks have campgrounds with accommodations ranging from primitive camping to cabins and full-service cottages. Higley Flow is nestled among the Adirondack foothills on the picturesque Raquette River. The park has a beach, boat launch sites, a fully accessible picnic area with pavilions, tables, and a playground, and a nature trail. Well-spaced, handicapped-accessible campsites have blacktop driveways, picnic tables, and fireplaces, and campgrounds have dumping stations and showers.
