She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Fran Mongin and Patsy Dieterich and cousin, Jon Van Deuren. James E. Femal) Patricia "Patt" Berken Femal, of Menasha, age 60, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007, from cancer. She spent her final days in her Lake Winnebago dream home with her great big beautiful family. August 16, 1946, in Appleton to the late Lloyd and Blanche (Rotzenberg) Berken. She graduated from Xavier High School in 1964 and attended Wisconsin State University-Whitewater.

She married her high school sweetheart, Jef Femal, on February 15, 1969. Patt worked as an accountant at Schenck Business Solutions for nineteen years. Patt lived in Illinois, Georgia, Texas and Germany as a military wife before returning to the Appleton area. Patt's greatest joys were planning her daughter Joelle's wedding and being a grandmother to Lauren, Liam, and Conner. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and loved to play cards with her bridge group of 27 years.

Patt was the most positive person. She was always smiling and brought so much joy to others. Patt loved to create handmade Royal Stewart Tarton Christmas decorations. She was a wonderful cook and made the best lasagna and chop suey. Patt always made everyone feel so welcome in her beautiful new home.

Patt is survived by the love of her life, Jef Femal; daughter, Joelle (Brian) Boon Hamill; son, Jeffrey James Femal; and three beautiful grandchildren: Lauren, Liam and Conner Hamill. She is further survived by her mother, Blanche Berken; her brother, Peter (Donna Lowe) Berken; six sisters: Sharon (Bill) Berken Wood, Jeannie Berken, Lynda Stack, Penny (Steven) Berken Forman, Connie (Mike) Berken Cavanagh, and Amy (Joe) Berken Schlosser. Patt enjoyed the closeness of many special nieces and nephews and was an important role model in their lives. Her surviving nieces and nephews are Lori (Jim) Wood Bollock, Tammy Wood, Cari McCann, Godchild Katie Stack, Sara and Laura Stack, Chrissy Berken, Dave and Kelly Berken, Brad Berken, Chloe Forman, Alex and Hannah Schlosser, and Matt and Nicole Cavanagh. Mert was born in Appleton, WI, to the late Julius and Catherine (Jensen) Robertson. On September 25, at NuRoc Myrtle (Mert) Catherine Reitzner age 83 passed away on 1943, she married Stanley Reitzner. They moved to Mountain in 1980 where Mert enjoyed watching the humming birds, painting, knitting, and baking treats for her family.

Her husband and family were the most important part of her life. She was a very special friend, mother, wife and grandma who will be sorely missed. Swires, Mary Mary Swires, Appleton, passed away on her 93rd birthday Wednesday August 15, 2007, at Rennes Health Care Center. She was born on August 15, 1914, in Grosse Tete, Louisiana, the daughter of Sam and Mary (Pasquale) Scimeca.

Mary moved to Appleton in 1963. She was an exceptional lady with a list of accomplishments. Her greatest passion was the home building business. She was a general contractor in the Fox Valley Friends and families of the deceased have prepared these obituaries and funeral announcements.
